![]() Talents from all sectors of the Japanese entertainment industry will lend a hand in Kessen II. The Wu kingdom led by Sun Quan will appear as the third influence in the game and will play a key role in the main story of Kessen II. Koei hasn't mentioned specifics, but you can expect other hidden features after finishing the game. Although in the first game you could play as the opposing force after playing through the game once, the sequel does not let you play as Cao Cao. You take the role of the Liu Bei, leader of the Shu kingdom, in his battle against his rival, Cao Cao, leader of the Wei kingdom. Kessen II borrows its concept from the Chinese epic Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and it is centered on the Shu and Wei kingdoms. From a long time KOEI fan, I love this game.Īrrived quickly and as described. However, if you want a game with a great story line and exciting battles that require strategy to achieve victory, then this game is for you. If you care about how historically accurate a game is avoid this game. If you want a game where you build you armies up and choose who to fight and who to ally with you will not like this game. Very detailed and edge of your seat story lineĪbility to command as much or as little of a fight as you want Outstanding graphics during all aspects of the game ![]() ![]() Your officer will have either special strength attacks or some magic ablility and you can use them to slaughter you enemy. Also, once an officer initiates combat with another officer you can take control of the actual hand-to-hand fight. You can choose to let you officers to do their own thing, or you can give each of them direct orders. You are given control of about 4-7 generals each commanding their 5000-10000 soldiers. It is difficult to explain in words what sets these battles apart from other games but I must proclaim that you have not played a battle sequence as amazing as this game. The battles are amazing and will force many players to develop new ideas for strategy battles. This game is completely based upon the battles themselves. However, the gameplay of this game is not based on what you do in between battles. The player is not given the option where to fight and the three options given to develop are rather pointless to the overall progress of the game. train, recruit, develop new technology.) 3.) I have read some reviewers claim that in between battles you are given many choices on how to guide you army. However, a good game is not based on a pretty face but is determined by a number of other qualities. First of all, the graphics are stunning and the story line is astonishingly engrossing. Personally, I believe this is the best KOEI game I have ever played. I have been playing KOEI games since Nobumga's Ambition on regular Nintendo. Whether you want to command many armies or just get in on the action this is a great game to do both in.ģ of 3 people found the following review helpful. I thing because of this and the repetitive nature of each battle it can be hard to see the game through to the end. It can be hard to follow and isn't even worth following really. Honestly though the story really just seems like an excuse for big battle. Plus it's entertain to watch the duels that happen during this battle. I personally love getting involved with the battle after two opposing army clash by playing as the commanding officer. The strategic elements aren't quite like the original but still fun no the less. All of the officer in the game are based off real people of the time with a magical and fictitious spin to make things more interesting. With that said Kessen II Is strategic sword, spells, & bows, military game set in ancient times of the Chinese dynasties. I would even suggest getting all 3 games (For reasonable or cheap prices) if you like one or the other because the're all so different just keep in mind that they are all very different. The game itself is great and a lot of fun! Kessen II is certainly a fair bit different from the original but that is not all bad whether you've played the first one or not. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.ħ/10 For anyone looking for sword & shield army clashing action.Ī complete package with expected shipping that was all good!
